- Re-Potting: To assure drainage, line the bottom of the pot with small stones or broken clay pots. Simply remove the plant from the old pot and remove loose soil from the roots. Replant in a larger pot partially filled with moistened soil. Pack the soil gently around the plant, filling to 1/2 inch below the rim. - Usage: For proper wetting, use approximately one quart of water to four quarts of soil. - Ingredients: African violet flowers thrive in a well-draining, slightly acidic soil mix that provides good aeration. This mixture is composed of perlite and vermiculite for aeration and moisture retention. - Acidity: This soil is a PH controlled mixture, which allows for a lower PH level.
