How do I know when it's time to repot my plant?

This 8 qt. bag of Miracle-Gro Organic Indoor Potting Mix fills two 8-inch containers (amounts may vary based on the size of the root ball).

Select a shallow seeding tray or container with a drain hole. Fill the container with potting mix. Plant seeds according to package directions. Water thoroughly immediately after planting & let drain.

Fill a pot partially with potting mix and loosen the root ball of transplant and place into the pot. Add more mix, covering plant roots and press down lightly and water thoroughly.

When starting seeds, to help conserve moisture, place a clear, ventilated plastic bag over the container after planting. Remove immediately after seeds start to germinate.

How do I store leftover product?

Just close up the bag and keep it in a dry spot, like your garage or a closet.

Why do I need a special potting mix for my houseplants?

Indoor plants have it a little different than their outdoor friends. This mix is blended to provide the right balance of moisture and aeration for an indoor environment, which helps protect against over- and under-watering.

What does "OMRI Listed" mean?

OMRI stands for the Organic Materials Review Institute. When you see their seal, it means the product has been reviewed for use in organic gardening, so you can be sure you're using a great product for your organic indoor garden.

How do I know when it's time to repot my plant?

A few signs to look for are roots growing out of the drainage hole, water running straight through the pot without being absorbed, or the plant just looking like it's too big for its home.
