Why would I eat sprouts?
Sprouts are an easy way to eat more vegetables. Broccoli sprouts have 300% more Vitamin C than mature broccoli. They're also as fresh as food gets, still alive when eaten. Delicious too: add them to a sandwich, a smoothie, or check our recipes
How do I know when my sprouts are ready?
Simple, when the jar is full. Some seeds (like lentils and green peas) are commonly consumed after 3 days of growing, whereas leafy greens are most often grown to 5 or 6 days
How do I harvest sprouts?
Rinse off biofilm to boost shelf life and food safety, remove hulls for extra freshness, then dry well since sprouts shouldn't be stored wet. A salad spinner handles all three and doubles as storage: keep the lid loose in the fridge
How long do sprouts last?
If you harvest and store them as we advise, we suggest consuming them within 5-7 days
Why are my sprouts growing slowly?
Cold temps can slow growth, sprouts take twice as long at 65-68°F vs 72°F. Soak time matters too: at least 2/3 of seeds should show tails. Cloudy rinse water or rotten smell means toss it.
